The week 13 studio will be used to provide students with a critique of their progress on this assignment. While we do not expect that your work will be completed (and indeed, this is your opportunity to garner feedback that you can use to refine your final submission), it does need to be sufficiently developed to allow you to demonstrate and explain the project to a jury member unfamiliar with the project.
You will have a 10 minute time slot assigned to you, and in this time you will need to be able to:
- show and explain the design
- discuss the design requirements and style based on your developed research client brief
- demonstrate how your design reflects the style of your research client ( how your design is recognisably that of your client)
- respond to questions and commentary from the jury members and from other students
We would suggest you plan for approximately 6 minutes of presentation and 4 minutes of discussion. Note that this crit forms part of the mark for assignment 2. Marks will be based on your ability to tell the story of your project, not on the level of completion of the project.
Final submission for the project is NO LATER THAN midnight, Saturday, November 16 (but hey, you can submit earlier if you like!).
Hi Wesley, is there a recommended array of display types (ie: drawings/sections/sketchup file/lumion file) for Friday's crit? or could we just show (whilst presenting) the sketchup model with drawings, client brief/profile and maybe a video fly around from sketchup?
ReplyDeleteHi Jordon,
ReplyDeleteNot really, we assume that your work is not yet complete, so what we want to see is enough information (in whatever form you have available) for us to understand what your project is, how it encapsulates the style (and serves the needs of) your research client, and what you are looking to produce for the final submission.
What is important here is the ability to have someone, who has not seen your project, understand it.
